- Need TA for Nuke Plz

- In IGN's recently released list of the Top 10 Nuclear Explosions in Games, World in Conflict has (unsurprisingly) taken first place.
Quoted from IGN:
No game lavishes such attention and detail to nuclear explosions than World in Conflict. Sure, these are tactical nukes that we're dealing with, not the bigger, city-killing warheads. However, the execution is so perfect, from the initial blinding flash of light to the angry, billowing, mushrooming cloud rising high into the sky. This is a game where nukes fly back and forth during a single match, resulting in fireworks galore.
World in Conflict's big portabella reigns supreme!
The latest Behind the Scenes video describes the artistic efforts to replicate nuclear explosions, and in case you didn't see it already, you can watch it here.

- A New Distributor for World in Conflict?
- Posted by General_II on July 01st, 2009 @ 04:09 a.m.
- On June 25th Ubisoft announced that it has strengthened ties with Metaboli, the leading digital game distributor in Europe. From this partnership, Ubisoft is set to release many of its titles via digital distribution starting in June.
In addition to using Gamesplanet and Gametap for this distribution, Ubisoft also has confirmed that it plans to provide download services from its own UBI Shop, which is to be powered using technology from the aforementioned Metaboli.
Though new distribution systems don't look to offer much more to World in Conflict at this point in time, considering the age of the title, the situation is noteworthy given the trouble Soviet Assault (as well as other formerly Activision-owned titles) has had with securing publishers. In addition to World in Conflict, other titles that will be digitally released as part of the new partnership include Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway and Prince of Persia.

Editor's note: neither Metaboli or Ubisoft have offered formal press released confirming the partnership at the time of publication.

- Massgate's Nukelear has announced the Movie Making 101 guide for World in Conflict!
This guide's goal is to help beginners and newcomers understand and learn how to create movies, in great, easy to understand directions. The Movie Maker has to be set up, and involves some following of steps, but it pays off when you have this great tool helping you create extrodinary movies. Even experienced designers can and should check out this guide, as it can aslo improve the overall quality of the movies. This guide can make movie making fun, and it can make you view them in a totally new perspective; aswell as being comfortable making them.
Here is some more information told by Nukelear:"Making a WiC movie
So you want to make a World in Conflict movie? Not sure where to start? Well keep reading.
Firstly, get an idea, what is your movie going to be about? Then go out there and get some replays that you can use to make this movie. At the moment you can not script units so the only real stage you have are real live games or if you have some time and people to help you out you could go and make a private server and stuff around on that.
Current convention for WiC movies:
1. Upload a version to YouTube
2. Add it to the WiC Community listed above
3. Upload a higher resolution version to Stage 6 and put that as a comment in your YouTube video and add it to the new Stage 6 WiC channel".
Havent got enough? Want more information? Be sure to go here to view the thread. There, you can get helpful tips, more information about the Movie Maker 101, and some brief explainations on the project and some of its features.

- Positron's Almanac
- Posted by Xaph on June 30th, 2009 @ 8:42 p.m.
- Massgate forum user Positron has posted his Almanac, which is an excellent strategy guide filled with sound advice and excellent illustrations.
Not to be confused with a walkthrough, the Almanac does not offer you general rules or campaign strategies, rather, it offers you advice on specific parts of the game. In Positron's words:
"A guide on what World in Conflict is, how I play it, and how I have seen other people play it. The first thing to understand about World in Conflict is that it is NOT rock/paper/scissors gameplay in the same way that Starcraft is not rock/paper/scissors gameplay. There are units, they have abilities, and using the units to their full potential requires positioning, timing, micro, and tactics"
The Almanac's index can be found by following this link.
- Fun Mod v1.2.1

- Fun Mod Version 1.2.1
Recently, Massgate's blahdy announced that Fun Mod Version 1.2.1 is now available for download, after a few updates and bug fixes.
blahdy: -
"Version 1.2 is a major upgrade to Fun Mod featuring several new features, brand new units and great balancing changes all of which deliver an improved gameplay experience. This version of the mod has been tested and optimized to work under World in Conflict Update 11.
The latest update, Version 1.2.1 revisits the role of Medium Attack Helicopters in this modification and fixes a few major stability bugs that caused crashes on dedicated servers."

The mod truly is a real beauty, and defiantly worth a look at. You can view the trailer here:

If you are confused with any of the new units in this modpack, there are guides that are made for strategy and understanding the new units as well as battle tactics.
The guides that are currently done are only written for support, but the guide to playing Air is set to be posted soon. The guide for playing support can be viewed at this link:

This mod promises to be a great thrill, and we're still waiting to hear more.
blahdy-

"NOTE: It is advised to run this mod on computers with High graphics settings for improved gameplay. If you are running on Low Settings, that's fine but you should at least consider enabling "Full Object Geometry" feature under Advanced Graphics Settings. Otherwise, you may notice that newly added units look whacked or very weird with several missing components."
Other than that, the mod has some great new features, after the updates and such. Proper credit needs to be given to everyone who worked on this modification. Please give a hand to:

*Madmonk777
*Everyone who helped with beta balancing tests
I hope you'll enjoy this modification.
